O’s Grand Slam In 9th Beats Angels 9-7

The Baltimore Orioles hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th inning to lift them over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 9-7 on Friday night. For the Halos they have now loss two of their last three ball games.
For the Halos Andrew Heaney got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 5 but allowed 4 home runs and was awarded a no decision for his efforts.
On the other side Jeremy Hellickson got the start. He pitched 4.2 innings allowing 8 hits and 7 runs. He struck out 2 batters but allowed 5 home runs and was awarded a no decision for his efforts as well.
The offense got started in the 1st inning for the Angels. Albert Pujols hit a 2-run shot that brought in Ben Revere. Kole Calhoun followed with a solo shot of his own and the Halos led 3-0 after the first.
In the 2nd inning C.J. Cron hit a solo shot. Kaleb Coward followed with a solo shot of his own and the Halos led 5-0.
Baltimore answered back with their own firepower. Mark Trumbo hit a solo shot that but the club on the board. Caleb Joseph hit a solo shot of his own in the inning as well, and Manny Machado hit a 2-run shot to trim the lead to 5-4.
Mike Trout hit a 2-run shot in the 5th inning to push the lead up to 7-4. Machado hit his second homer of the night in the 5th inning to cut the lead to 7-5.
Machado capped things off with a grand slam that brought in Anthony Santander, Ryan Flaherty, and Tim Beckham to give the O’s the victory.
These two clubs will continue their series tonight as J.C. Ramirez and Kevin Gausman are the projected starters.
