Padres Shutout Phillies 3-0

Clayton Richard threw a complete game shutout as the San Diego Padres beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon. San Diego has now won three in a row.
Richard got the start for the Padres. He pitched a complete game allowing 3 hits and 0 runs. He walked 1 and struck out 6 as he picked up his 6th win of the year.
On the other side Nick Pivetta got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 11 batters as he picked up his 8th loss of the year.
The offense got started in the 4th inning for San Diego. Wil Myers hit a RBI single that brought in Ceaser Asuaje and gave the club a 1-0 advantage. Myers stole home later in the inning to push it to 2-0.
In the 6th inning Hunter Renfroe hit a RBI double to left centerfield that brought in Cory Spangenberg. This was the final run of the game and club held on to win 3-0.
San Diego will play host to the Washington Nationals tonight at 7:10 p.m. PST. Edwin Jackson and Jhoulys Chacin are the projected starters.
