Angels Complete Sweep Over Mariners

The Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim used a big 5th inning to beat the Seattle Mariners and complete the sweep in Sunday 4-2. With the win the Halos have now won six in a row.
For Anaheim, Parker Bridwell got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 run. He walked 1 and struck out 2 as he picked up his 7th win of the season.
On the other side Ariel Miranda got the start. He pitched 4.2 innings allowing 4 hits and 4 runs. He walked 6 and struck out 6 as he picked up his 6th loss of the year.
The offense got started in the 1st inning when Nelson Cruz hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Yonder Alonso. This gave Seattle a 1-0 lead.
In the 3rd inning C.J. Cron hit a solo shot to left field to tie the score at one a piece. Andrelton Simmons hit a sacrifice fly in the 5th inning that brought in Mike Trout. Martin Maldonado followed with a RBI single to left center that brought in Albert Pujols and Jefry Marte.This gave the Angels a 4-2 lead.
In the 9th inning Jarrod Dyson hit a RBI single that brought in Robinson Cano, but it wasn’t enough for the M’s to make a comeback.
Keynan Middleton came on in the 9th inning and picked up his second save of the year.
Anaheim will have a day off before taking on the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park on Tuesday night. Tyler Skaggs and Gio Gonzalez are the projected starters.
