Grand Slam Lifts Reds Over Padres 10-3

Scooter Gennett head a grand slam in the 7th inning to lift the Cincinnati Reds over the San Diego Padres 10-3 on Thursday afternoon. San Diego has loss four out of the last five games.
For the Padres Dinelson Lamet got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 3 hits and 2 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 5 as he was awarded the no decision.
On the other side Luis Castillo got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 4 as he picked up the no decision as well.
The offense got started in the 2nd inning for the Reds. Tucker Barnhart hit a 2-run double that brought in Eugenio Suarez and Patrick Kivlehan. This gave the Reds an early 2-0 lead.
In the 4th inning Wil Myers hit a solo homer to trim the lead. Cory Spangenberg hit a RBI double that brought in Luis Torrens that tied the score. Jose Pirela hit a RBI single later in the inning to give the Padres the lead.
It was Gennett who hit the grand slam in Jesse Winker, Zach Cozart, and Joey Votto. Suarez hit a solo shot of his own later in the inning.
Cozart hit a 2-run shot in the 8th inning that brought in Devin Mesoraco and Votto hit a solo shot that gave the Reds a 10-3 win.
The Padres will begin their series with the Dodgers tonight at 7:10 p.m. PST.
Clayton Richard and Rich Hill are the projected starters.
