KCP is a former first round pick of the Detroit Pistons in the 2013 NBA Draft. He spent four years with the Detroit Pistons before becoming an restricted free agent this summer.
After negotiations broke down with the Pistons, the club went out and made a trade to acquire guard Avery Bradley which made KCP expendable. KCP played in 76 games last season starting in 75 of them.
He averaged 13.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting 40% from the field and 35% from three. The addition should help the Lakers in a big way next season.
