Hollywood Blvd. News – Los Angeles Clippers Edition
- Updated: January 12, 2015
We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Los Angeles Clippers were unable to beat the Miami Heat today as they struggled throughout. They lost 104-90:
“The problem came for the Clippers in the form of Hassan Whiteside, who had a career-high of 23 points and 16 points today. The dominance of Whiteside resulted in everything from tip-ins, dunks and jumpers. He was 10 of 13 from the field and 3 of 4 from the line in 28 minutes.
In the first period, the Clippers suffered two technical fouls, one for DeAndre Jordan and the other Chris Paul. Matt Barnes committed the third technical after arguing with the referees. Which is precisely what the Clippers spent their time doing throughout today.
Blake Griffin scored 26 points and Chris Paul had 23 points and nine assists for the Clippers. ESPN.com reports:
“The Clippers took a 19-6 lead, helped by 3-pointers from J.J. Redick, who finished with 14 points, and two by Paul. From there, it was all Miami.”

According to Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today the Austin Rivers could be heading to the Los Angeles Clippers:
“Rivers was traded to the Boston Celtics earlier today in a three-team trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. Reports surfaced that the Celtics were looking to move Rivers as soon as they acquired him.
Knowing the close relationship between Doc Rivers and the Boston Celtics it is only a natural fit for Austin to head to LA.
Doc and Austin have been asked the question about them on the same team since Austin entered the league. When asked a year ago they were both on the same page saying they didn’t think it was a great idea. Arash Marakazi tweeted the information.”
