Allen and Doc Rivers have a relationship due to their championships year with the Boston Celtics in 2008. Allen spent six years in Boston before joining the Grizziles for the last seven seasons.
Allen is one of the best defenders in the league and has been named all defensive team 6-times in his career. With the Clippers losing J.J. Redick in free agency and Jamal Crawford via trade they are looking to solidify that shooting guard position.
