Chris Paul Makes NBA All-Defensive First Team

Paul

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, Chris Paul was named to the NBA’s coveted first team all defense squad for his play this season.

Known as one of the best defenders in the league, Paul averaged a stellar 2.0 steals per game. While that isn’t the highest mark of his career, keep in mind the strength of guards he has had to deal with in the Western Conference. Not to mention on many nights he would take on the opposing team’s best scorer. Steals are not all that measures a great defender though, he had some of the best guards in the game throwing fits when he was lined up across from them.

This is the seventh time in Paul’s career he has made first team all-defense and the 6th year in a row.

Other Clippers that received votes for the honor included Luc Mbah a Moute, DeAndre Jordan and Austin Rivers.

With Paul recently opting out of his contract with Los Angeles and his future with the Clippers being up in the air, if this does end up being his last season with the team he will have made first team all defense every single year he was on the squad. Before Paul, no Clipper had ever had the honor of making first team all-defense.
