Chris Paul Opts Out Of Contract

According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul has opted out of his contract to become a free agent this summer.

Arash Markazi of ESPN.com shared his thoughts on the news.

Markazi shared more information on Paul.

Paul has spent the last six seasons with the Clippers after being traded from New Orleans. Paul dealt with injuries each of the past two years that kept him out of the playoffs and some time during the regular season last year.

Paul is one of the best point guards in the game and averaged 18.1 points and 9.2 assists last season. The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are the two teams rumored to make a heavy pursuit of the Wake Forest product.

Paul has never made it to the Western Conference Finals in his 12-year career and may be ready to try something new.
