Griffin has spent his entire seven year career with the Clippers. He has made the All-Star team 5-times and won Rookie of the year back in 2011.
It is believed that Griffin is simply opting out to test the market and see what’s out there but you never know with these sort of situations. There are some attractive destinations that may be able to woe the former dunk contest champion.
The Minnesota TimberWolves are loaded with young talent and just traded for All-Star Jimmy Butler. Could Griffin complete that roster that already has Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Ricky Rubio?
The Lakers have cap space but that is unlikely. The San Antonio Spurs are working to create cap space for Chris Paul but if they are able to unload LaMarcus Aldridge do they make a run a Griffin? The Houston Rockets are also expected to show interest as well.
With any of these teams we won’t know until we get to July which will be here quicker than we expect. As more information surfaces on the Clippers and their offseason news we will keep you up to date.
