Ryan Kesler Out 4-5 Months

According to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register, Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Kesler could be out four to five to recover from hip surgery earlier this month.

Stephens reported further information on the news.
Surgery was on Kesler’s right hip. This one, he said, was much different from 2011 surgery on left one to repair labral tear.

“The drive to be on the ice for all 82 regular-season games also came with a price. Kesler is at the early stages of his recovery from surgery on his right hip, a process that’s going to keep him off the ice throughout the summer and likely limit his participation in training camp and the preseason.
Kesler said the procedure was done by noted hip surgeon Dr. Marc Philippon in Vail, Colo. Bone spurs and other fragments were removed in what the center called “an extensive cleanup” that will sideline him for at least three months.”
