Russell the former second overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft had shown sparks of stardom at times for the Lakers. However, Los Angeles is looking to get back into the playoffs for the first time since 2013 and looking to add some star power.
By getting rid of Mozgov’s bad contract the Lakers are getting closer to have room for two max contracts in free agency.
