Angels Take Finale From Astros 12-6

@angels_fanly

A very impressive 12-6 win over the Houston Astros was just what the Los Angeles Angels needed yesterday down in the Long Star state.

The win was a confident builder, and it gave the Angels some momentum on cooling off their red-hot divisional counterparts.

Albert Pujols started the scoring with his 10th homer of the season and career homer number 601. The Angels built a three-run lead after the third inning but the Astros chipped away and took 6-3, lead. Los Angeles rallied back with a big fifth inning, scoring six runs, capped off with a three-run homer by Eric Young Jr.

Halos starter Jesse Chavez allowed six runs on only four hits and wasn’t able to complete four full innings.
Keynan Middleton (W,1-0), picked up the win in relief in only an inning of work.

NEXT UP FOR THE ANGELS:

The Halos (33-33), won’t be able to rest after their great series in Houston. The other red-hot team in the American League will be in town to face the Halos. “Here Comes The Judge” and the New York Yankees, fresh off a three-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees completely dominated the O’s, outscoring them 38-8.

The slight edge to the Halos in this first game of the three-game series. Masahiro Tanaka (5-6, 6.55 ERA) will start for the Yankees. Tanaka hasn’t pitched well recently, losing his past five starts. Alex Meyer (2-3, 4.08 ERA) will be on the hill for the Angels.
