Trout’s Injured, In 9-2 Loss to Marlins.

The Los Angeles Angels loss was devastating in more ways than one. The team suffered another loss to the Miami Marlins
9-2. Mike Trout sustained a sprained left thumb and left the game in the sixth inning.
Trout stole second base with one out in the top of the sixth inning and pulled up with an apparent wrist injury, but it was later confirmed that Trout sprained his thumb. The X-rays were negative, and the team has will get an MRI to monitor the injury further. His status is day-to-day, as the team travels back to Anaheim.
The Angels led the Marlins 2-1 after the end of the fourth inning, on a Martin Maldonado homer that scoring Kole Calhoun for the only scoring play of the afternoon.
Matt Shoemaker (L,4-3), went 4-2/3 innings, allowing seven hits four earned runs and two homer runs by Giancarlo Stanton and J.T. Riddle.

The Atlanta Braves will be in town for a three-game series for Memorial Day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Julio Teheran (3-4, 4.88 ERA) will be on the mound for the Braves. The Angels will counter with Ricky Nolasco
(2-4, 4.37 ERA).
Los Angeles (26-27) will look forward to being back at home and back over the .500 mark.
