Albert Pujols’ 597th Career Homer
- Updated: May 25, 2017
Albert Pujols has just hit his 597th home run of his career! Pujols is only three homers shy of the exclusive 600-home run club.
Pujols hit a two-run homer in the top of the first inning, that scored Mike Trout to give the Angels a two-run advantage over the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa. This game is still in progress.
Pujols will join Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Alex Rodriguez, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr. Jim Thome, and Sammy Sosa as the only players to have collected over 600 home runs during their careers.
Anaheim went on to lose last night by a score of 5-2. Today they will take on the Tampa Bay Rays at 11:10 a.m. PST. Daniel Wright and Matt Andriese are the expected starters. Anaheim currently sports a record of 25-24 just one game above .500. They have won three out of their last four games.
Congratulations Albert Pujols!
