Angels Edged By Mariners, 8-7

The Seattle Mariners finally picked up a win over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim last night, squeaking out an 8-7 win.
The Mariners got the best of Angels starter Ricky Nolasco early, hitting a pair of home runs by Robinson Cano and Jean Segura respectively, in the first and fifth innings. The Angels woke up in the top of the sixth, trailing 4-0, Mike Trout blasted a two-run homer, his eighth of the season, to cut the lead to 4-2. By the end of the sixth inning, the Angels managed to tie the game at six apiece.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Mariners regained the lead and grabbed a two-run advantage. The Halos moved closer on a Kole Calhoun‘s two-out homer in the top of the ninth inning, but the Halos fell short. losing the game by a single run.
Halos Reliever Blake Parker (L,0-2) took the loss, after a twenty-five pitch two-thirds of an innings of work.
NEXT UP FOR THE ANGELS:
The two teams will square off in the final game of the series tonight for Seattle. Halos (16-14), will send the rookie Alex Meyer (0-0, 4.91 ERA) to the mound. Seattle (12-16) will counter with Ariel Miranda (2-2, 3.81 ERA).
