Angels Blank A’s, 5-0
- Updated: April 6, 2017
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim only needed two good innings to take care of the Oakland A’s, 5-0.
Anaheim scored three times in the second inning and twice in the fifth to complete the scoring. Kole Calhoun led the team with three hits in five times at the plate. Danny Espinosa‘s single in the second inning was the difference, giving the Halos a comfortable three-run lead.
Starter Garrett Richards only went 4.2/3 innings, after leaving for cramping in his biceps. The abrupt exit put a damper on his return. Richards was returning from an eleven-month absent from an elbow injury. J.C. Ramirez (W,1-0) picked up his first win of the season and his first career win in an Halos uniform.
HALOS DUGOUT:
We will keep a close eye on Richards health and update his condition when it’s available. The good news was that all players except for Yunel Escobar had at least one hit in last night’s game. The Angels collected thirteen hits.
NEXT UP FOR THE ANGELS:
The Angels (2-1) will try to take their first series of the season. Tyler Skaggs will make his season debut against the A’s (1-2) Andrew Triggs.
