Trout’s Milestone Leads To Angels Win!
- Updated: April 5, 2017
Mike Trout collected career RBI number 500 in the fifth inning to help pace the Angels to a 7-6 win over the Oakland A’s last night.
The Angels battled back from a one-run deficit in the top of first, and again in the top of the ninth inning to rally for the first win of the season. Danny Espinoza’s three-run blast to right field proved to be the game-winner for the Halo’s.
Matt Shoemaker returned to the lineup healthy since last May to pitch five innings, allowing two run solo-home runs for a no-decision. Andrew Bailey (W,1-0), picked up the win in relief. Angels closer Cam Bedrosian (S,1), managed to take care of the A’s on fourteen pitches to earn his first save of the season.
HALOS DUGOUT:
Milestones and accomplishments are to be celebrated especially when it comes to our superstar. Trout’s latest milestone comes only after five full seasons with the Halos.
NEXT UP FOR THE ANGELS:
After a split in the first two games of the series, the two teams will play game three tonight. Garrett Richards is healthy and will be back on the mound for Los Angeles (1-1). Oakland (1-1) will counter with Jharel Cotton.
