We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the San Diego Chargers.

The San Diego Chargers have worked out a new player:

“According to Field Yates of ESPN NFL Insiders the San Diego Chargers have worked out CFL standout corner Delvin Breaux.

Breaux is 25 years-old and was highly recruited out of high school but struggled after suffering three broken vertebrae in his back and a partially blocked artery suffered while covering a kick in high school in 2006. Breaux wasn’t able to play in college.

He was discovered by the CFL after a long recovery period while playing arena football for the New Orleans Voodoo of the Arena Football League.”

UT San Diego discusses Philip Rivers:

“Philip Rivers is entering the walk year of his contract.

This walk looks like it’ll be a U-turn.

Should Rivers want to play past 2015, it’d be one of the more stunning developments in franchise history if the Chargers and he didn’t work out a multi-year extension.

The Chargers, for their part, have no other quarterback who projects as a franchise cornerstone. They could try to find one in the draft, but even if they took a third-round flyer, they’d still want to have a starter in place beyond 2015.

So, when General Manager Tom Telesco said the team is “committed to make sure Philip retires as a Charger,” he probably wasn’t grandstanding.”
