- Updated: March 29, 2017
Sometimes they’re on and sometimes they’re off, but when a shooter is feeling it just give them the damn ball. J.J. Redick was certainly feeling his shot for the Clippers Wednesday evening as they took on the Washington Wizards.
Redick shot the lights out at Staples Center going 7 of 11 from beyond the arc and ending his stellar night with 31 points. The former Duke Blue Devil has made a career out of running off of perfect screens into a wide open shot and this game showcased his unique ability to do just that.
Bingo #5 for @JJRedick.
Tune in to the 2nd half!

Redick has also become known for catching fire in the first quarter and creating offense for Los Angeles early. While Redick had a good start he didn’t set the floor on fire with his shooting until much later in the contest. Chris Paul took on the task of charging the Clippers out of the gates and he did so magnificently. By the end of the the opening quarter Paul was 5 of 5 from the field with 15 points and 4 assists. Paul closed out the game with 27 points and 13 assists just adding to the fantastic night from backcourt pair.
It wasn’t just the guards that sparkled on the offensive side for the Clippers. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan took advantage of the Wizards bigs as they struggled to keep their composure covering the Clippers star duo. Griffin finished up his night on triple-double watch with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. His superb performance apparently drove his Wizards counterpart into madness as Markieff Morris was ejected in the third quarter for his second technical foul. Meanwhile Jordan owned the paint snatching up 18 rebounds to go along with 23 points while his counterpart Marcin Gortat would get just 6 points and 4 boards.
This domination on the offensive end for the Clippers helped them come away with a 133-124 win over a top Eastern Conference team.
A great win for Los Angeles and fans can only hope they can carry the momentum from this win into the home stretch of their schedule.
