Blazers Top Lakers 97-81

The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Los Angeles Lakers by a 16-point margin at the Staples Center Sunday night.
Portland’s “Dynamic Duo”, Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, combined for 35 points on 12-33 shooting. It was an off night of sorts for those two, but Allen Crabbe‘s big evening off the bench lifted the Blazers to a comfortably victory. He netted 18 of his own on 7-12 shooting.
For the Lakers, Julius Randle was held to just four points on 2-7 shooting. He did grab nine boards, however. Jordan Clarkson tossed up 16 FGA and connected on just four. He finished with ten points, seven rebounds and six assists. David Nwaba chipped in with nine points on a perfect 4-4 mark from the field. Tyler Ennis and Ivica Zubac finished with 13 and ten, respectively. D’Angelo Russell had a nice night, connecting on eight of 19 attempts from the floor for 22 points.
The Lakers shot just 59% from the charity stripe and hit seven fewer triples than the Blazers. They were outrebounded, 67-49. Both teams shot around 40% from the field.
Portland’s win moved the Blazers to the right side of the playoff bubble. They hold the West’s eight-seed at this very moment.
Los Angeles, on the other hand, currently have the second-best lottery odds.
Final score: Trail Blazers 97, Lakers 81.
