Weaver is a former first round pick of the Angels back in the 2004 MLB Draft. He has spent his entire 11 year career with the Angels.
Weaver was named to the All-Star team three times with the Angels. He also finished second in the Cy Young award voting back in 2011 when he posted a 18-8 record.
Last season with the club he posted a 12-12 record with a 5.06 ERA. Weaver was a fan favorite and will be missed. As more information surfaces on the Padres and their news we will keep you up to date.
