Lakers Come Up Short In Washington, 116-108

@NBA_Skits

The Los Angeles Lakers had their hands full but could not overcome the Washington Wizards, losing 116-108.

The offense was able to score and the team had a very nice game, but the Wizards had to battle the Lakers to hold them off in the end. Lou Williams turned in one of the game’s most exciting plays on a steal, dribbling the length of the court between the legs of two defenders and assisting on a Larry Nance Jr. slam dunk.

Jordan Clarkson led Los Angeles in scoring with 20 points. D’Angelo Russell and Tarik Black both turned in double-doubles for Los Angeles in the defeat. Black’s second double-double of the season (13 points and 11 rebounds), wasn’t enough for Los Angeles to grab the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:

Los Angeles shot well from the floor tonight, 46% to the Wizards 45.8%. The team also held a slight edge on the boards, outrebounding Washington by two, 47-45.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

The old rivalry is renewed when the Lakers (17-35) head to Boston to face the Celtics for the first time this season, tomorrow night. Boston is currently leading the NBA’s Atlantic Division. Hold on to your seats when these two teams get together.
