According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell will miss one to two weeks with a mild MCL sprain in his right knee.

Mike Trudell of Lakers.com also reported the news.

Russell the second overall selection in the 2015 NBA Draft left the Lakers win over the Indiana Pacers in the first quarter after suffering the injury. With Russell out the Lakers will look to Jose Calderon and Marcelo Huertas to take over the point guard duties.

Lakers coach Luke Walton had rookie Brandon Ingram start at the point guard position in yesterday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks. With the loss the Lakers find themselves falling further out of the playoff race as the season begins to wind down.
