What’s Next For The Chargers?

@ChargersHype28

The Chargers have been all the headlines over the last few days for numerous reasons. For one the organization decided it was time to move on from the city they have played professional football in for the last 56 years.

What has become a saga filled with drama much like the Star Wars trilogy seems to be finally over. For the last few years there has been so much talk about a potential move that no one ever really knew when the last game at Qualcomm Stadium would be.

For more than decade the Chargers have been trying to get a deal done in order to provide a new stadium for the team. The city and the owner Dean Spanos could never agree on a deal to help provide the funding so Spanos starting looking elsewhere.

With the St. Louis Rams moving to Los Angeles and getting approved for a 2.66 billion dollar stadium it made things even more interesting for the Chargers. A stadium controversy they could not solve with a stadium already ready just over 100 miles up the road the choice became more and more apparent as the season went on.

As the Chargers move to Los Angeles they are betting on two things. For starters they are betting on the fact that the people of Los Angeles will embrace and welcome another football team. Second they are betting they can compete with Rams for market share.

The NFL  is a sport with a lot of money involved and the Chargers are hoping to take some of the Los Angeles market

In a letter to the fans of San Diego Spanos said that the Chargers were ready to fight for Los Angeles. Here is an excerpt from that letter.

“The Chargers are determined to fight for LA and we are excited to get started.”
