Richard is a former 8th round pick of the 2005 MLB Draft. He has spent time with the Chicago White Sox, Padres, and Chicago Cubs throughout his career.
Last season with the Padres he posted a 3-3 record with a 2.52 ERA in 11 games. San Diego is looking to improve after a rough season last season and Richard pitched well with the club.
