The Los Angeles Kings were not able to come out on top this afternoon after an overtime win put Nashville Predators in front 7-6.

A goal early in the first went in the Kings favor with a shot from Matt Greene, and set the game off in the right direction, well at least we thought. The Predators tied it up in the fourth minute and took the lead in the sixth, with goals from Mike Fisher and Colin Wilson respectively.

Dwight King, Marian Gaborik and Jeff Carter score three goals, 1:27 apart in the final minutes of the third period to erase a 6-3 goal deficit.Ultimately it was the great Jeff Carter sent the game to OT following an assist from Anze Kopitar.

The Kings broke their record of most goals allowed at home today and they began their seven game homestead. It was also the first time Quick was removed from a game since the Kings’ season-opening loss to the San Jose Sharks, which equals a span of 31 starts.

As for the Nashville Predators, they have moved past the Chicago Blackhawks and now sit in second place in the Western Conference with 53 points, following today’s win.

The Kings will take on the New York Rangers on Thursday.
