Clippers Beat Raptors To Extend Win Streak

Clippers

Eastern Conference playoff hopefuls the Toronto Raptors (8-6) came to Staples Center Monday to take on your Los Angeles Clippers (13-2).

The game got off to a slow start for both squads. Over 5 minutes in and the two teams were staring at an 8-8 scoreline. Luckily for everybody things picked up after a slow first quarter.

Jamal Crawford sparked the Clippers offense in the second with 12 points. He would be most of the scoring help the starters would get from the bench on the night. Mo Speights was a huge help on the boards, snapping up 6 for the night but he would only get 6 points as well. Those 6 points made him second on the bench in scoring.

The Clipper starters turned it up a notch to make up for it. Blake Griffin sputtered in the first half but was able to turn it around quickly to start the third.

Finishing the night with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, it was another stellar night for Griffin. Chris Paul wasn’t to be outdone. Assisting on a majority of those buckets Blake dropped in the third, his confidence on the night grew with Griffin’s. Ending up with 26 points and 12 assists.

All Los Angeles’ starters scored in double digits on the night, a performance the team needed greatly against a strong Raptor team. No matter how many times Demar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry tried to close the gap, the Clippers would hit clutch shots and extend the lead further.

DeRozan with 25 and Lowry with 27 points on the night put up a great fight, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Clippers held on to a 123 – 115 victory at home.

Next Los Angeles will head to Dallas Wednesday night as the Clippers will face off against the Mavericks.

The Clippers take a 3 game winning streak to Dallas, here’s to pushing it to 4! Thanks for reading along Clipper Nation.
