This week the Los Angeles Lakers had their star return to the lineup:

“Bryant has missed the last three games due to body soreness. The Lakers will be taking on the red hot Phoenix Suns tonight at the Staples Center.

So far this season Lakers head coach Byron Scott has been taking heat for playing Bryant too many minutes. They have been reports of his reducing his minutes going forward. Scott did talk to Mark Medina about Bryant playing a little of the point guard into tonight’s game.

Some fans believe that the Lakers play better without Bryant in the lineup as they were able to beat the Golden State Warriors without him.

The Los Angeles Lakers also made moves when they waived injured Xavier Henry to make room on their roster to claim Tarik Black off of waivers from Houston Rockets:

“Xavier Henry has been struggling with injuries for the majority of the offseason as well as all of this season. You can read about his injury battles here.

Byron Scott is hoping Black will make an impact to the game immediately. He told NBA.com:

“The one thing I don’t think we have that we would love to have is more athleticism (and) toughness,” Scott said before the Lakers’ game against Phoenix. “From what I’ve heard, he’s very active on the defensive end, great communicator on the defensive end, and those are two things that we need from our bigs. We’ll see how he translates that from Houston to here.”

Black will arrive in LA for a physical today, and will hopefully join the team on Tuesday for their game in Denver.”
