Kings Struggles Continue in Minnesota

Well the 2016 NHL season has gotten off to the quick start that Los Angeles Kings fans’ have hoped for. The club fell to the Minnesota Wild by a score of 6-3 last night.
With the loss Los Angeles sits at 0-3 on the year. Things started quickly for Kings. Tanner Pearson scored a goal 50 seconds into the game, a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Jeff Carter.
Less than a minute later Erik Haula scored a wrist shot goal of his own to tie the score at 1-1. He goal was assisted by Nino Niederreiter and Jason Pominville.
At the end of the period Minnesota struck again when Pominville scored a goal of his own that was assisted by Haula. After the first period the Wild held a 2-1 lead.
The second period Los Angeles fell apart. Charlie Coyle scored a backhanded goal assisted by Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Mikko Koivu followed with a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Mikael Granlund and Chris Stewart.
Teemu Pulkkinen capped off the period with a goal that was assisted by Jonas Brodin and Zac Dalpe to extend the Wild lead to 5-1.
Anze Kopitar scored a wrist shot goal in the third period that was assisted by Tom Gilbert and Tyler Toffoli. Pearson scored his second goal of the night later in the period that was assisted by Carter and Devin Setoguchi.
Jared Spurgeon ended the night with an empty net goal that gave the Wild a 6-3 victory. Jeff Zatkoff stuggled allowing 5 goals on 11 shots.
Los Angeles will take on the Dallas Stars on Thursday night at the American Airlines Center.
