Chargers Sign WR Griff Whalen

According to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union Tribune the San Diego Chargers have signed former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Griff Whalen.

Mike McCoy said Griff Whalen projects as slot WR, has experience in offense from time in Indy and Miami. Can catch ball out of backfield.

Whalen played his college ball at Stanford University. He signed as a free agent with the Colts where he had spent his entire professional career.
Whalen’s best season as a pro came in 2014 where he made 24 receptions and scored 2 touchdowns. Last season with the Colts he made 19 receptions for 205 yards and a touchdown.
San Diego will take on the Colts this Sunday on CBS.
