Dodgers Look to Activate Andre Ethier

Andre Ethier

When the Dodgers take on the Marlins today, they hope to have Andre Ethier back on the roster.

He set off from Los Angeles last night and arrived in Miami half-way through the game last night. He looks to come back strongly after a leg fracture put his career on pause in March.

Ethier has yet to face a single-at-bat since the injury that rocked the Dodgers. The bones in his leg have not fully healed but the team feels like they need to get him back in the rotation.

Manager, Dave Roberts, said the following yesterday:

“We’ve got to get him involved. He’s going to get some occasional starts. He’s going to be used off the bench, to pinch-hit in some big spots. With Andre, a lot of it is contingent upon his leg.”

Andre Ethier spent some time rehabbing with the Class-A Rancho Cucamonga, where he switched between designated hitter and outfielder.

The Dodgers outfield looks to be pretty strong with the addition of Ethier. He will join Joc PedersonJosh ReddickYasiel PuigHowie KendrickAndrew Toles and Rob Segedin.
