Angels Sweep Reds In Finale, 3-0
- Updated: September 1, 2016
Ricky Nolasco pitched a gem, as the Angels swept the Cincinnati Reds, 3-0. This was one of the best pitching performances of the season, as Nolasco (5-14), finally picked up his first win in an Angel uniform. An awesome stat line; nine full innings, striking out seven, no walks, no runs on ninety-four pitches thrown. Truly excellent!
The Angels won their fifth in a row as the offense continues to get a boost from C.J. Cron, who drove in two of the team’s three runs. Cron singled to center in the bottom of the sixth inning which scored Andrelton Simmions, and in the eight on another RBI single that scored Nick Buss.
HALO’S DUGOUT:
You have to look back to over a month ago to find a more significant win for this team. The five-game winning streak is the second longest since the All-Star break when the team won the first six.
ANGELS ON DECK:
After a well-deserved day off, the team will travel to Seattle for a weekend series with the Mariners.
