Jones was brought over this offseason to provide another option for Philip Rivers after Steve Johnson went down. Currently Antonio Gates and Kennan Allen serve to be the primary targets and San Diego thought Jones could have been that third guy.
Jones has been cut three times in recent months and one has to wonder how much he has left in the tank. The Chargers will conclude their preseason at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers at Qualacomm Stadium.
