Scott Van Slyke Transferred to 60-Day DL

According to J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group, the Los Angeles Dodgers have place Scott Van Slyke on the 60-day DL.
#Dodgers selected Shawn Zarraga‘s contract from AAA, reinstated Rob Segedin and optioned Luis Avilan to AAA Oklahoma City. SVS to 60-day DL.

Hoornstra reported that Van Slyke will be not be able to return in the regular season.
The final regular season game is Oct. 2. Scott Van Slyke wouldn’t be eligible to play until Oct. 7. His regular season is over.

Van Slyke has been a member of the Dodgers for five years now. This season he has appeared in 52 games and is hitting .225.
The outfielder has been battling injuries all year and with the acquisition of Josh Reddick the Dodgers can afford for him to hit the DL. Los Angeles will take on the Chicago Cubs tonight at 7:10 p.m. PST
