Jeff Cumberland Will Miss 2016 Season

Acc0rding to Micheal Gehlken of the San Diego Union, San Diego Chargers tight end Jeff Cumberland has torn his achilles and will miss the entire 2016 NFL season.
Chargers TE Jeff Cumberland suffered Achilles tear Friday vs. Cardinals, he announced on Instagram. Out for season.

Gehlken reported further details of the move.
Mike McCoy confirms it: Chargers TE Jeff Cumberland has a torn Achilles; rookie G Donavon Clark has a torn ACL. Both out for season.

Ricky Henne of Chargers.com confirmed the news.
Head coach Mike McCoy says Jeff Cumberland (Achilles) and Donavon Clark (ACL) will miss the 2016 season.

Cumberland is a five year pro who has spent his entire career with the New York Jets. Last season with the team he played in 15 games starting in six of them.
Cumberland made 5 receptions of 77 yards. He was going to provide depth at the tight end position behind Pro-Bowler Antonio Gates but will not be able to do so this season.
