Angels Lose 3-2 For Their 11th Straight Loss

Angels

Another loss but this game just slipped out of the hands of the Angels. The Seattle Mariners beat the Angels, 3-2.

The Los Angeles Angels returned home from one of the worst road trips in the team’s history, only to drop the first game of the current homestand. Ricky Nolasco (L,4-10), suffered his third-straight loss since joining the team at the trade deadline. Nolasco allowed eight hits and all three of the Seattle runs including Nelson Cruz‘s 30th homer of the season.

Mike Trout hit his 23rd homer of the season, in the bottom of the fifth inning, to bring the Angels closer, but the team was unable to score after this inning. They scored their first run on a
ground rule two-bagger to left, by Nick Buss who picked up his first career RBI.

HALOS DUGOUT:

The biggest question mark has to be Ricky Nolasco and the trade with the Minnesota Twins at the trade deadline. The team should have reconsidered this trade.

ANGELS ON DECK:

Los Angeles (49-69), will conclude their series with the Seattle Mariners in game two of the four-game set. Jhoulys Chacin (3-8, 5.84 ERA), will take the mound. The Mariners will send Ariel Miranda
(1-0, 6.00 ERA), will come out of the team’s bullpen and make a spot start for Seattle.
LA are now 20 full games behind the Texas Rangers in the American League West.
