Angels Lose For Ninth Time, 5-1

For the ninth time, the Los Angeles Angels have taken another defeat, as they lost to the Cleveland Indians,
5-1.

Despite the fact that the Angels scored in the top of the second inning, the only hit came in the top of the sixth inning. Johnny Giavotella grounded out, which allowed Andrelton Simmions to score was the only offense the team could produce.

Cleveland starter Mike Clevinger (W,1-1), baffled the Angels offense and took a no-hitter into the into the sixth. His counterpart starter Matt Shoemaker (L.6-13), allowed five earned runs on twelve hits for his second straight defeat.

The final game of this series will and of this horrific road trip will conclude tomorrow afternoon. Jered Weaver (8-9, 5.19 ERA), will take the hill to try to stop the bleeding for this team. Trevor Bauer (8-5, 3.88 ERA), will take the mound for Cleveland. The Angels (49-67) will attempt one again to win game number fifty while avoiding losing the number ten in a row. They have now fallen to a season-high 19 full games back in the American League West.
