Angels Beat Oakland, 5-4

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim started their series with the Oakland A’s on a winning note, as they beat the A’s. 5-4.
The Halos spotted the A’s a two-run lead until the bottom of the fifth inning, drawing even on a Jett Bandy two-run homer. The Angels catcher now has five homers and nineteen runs batted in for the season. Jefry Marte smacked a three-run homer in the sixth, which was the game winner. Marte now has seven homers and twenty-three RBI’s for the year.
Matt Shoemaker (W,6-11), went seven full innings on ninety-eight pitches as he gave up only two runs on two homers by the A’s.
HALO’S DUGOUT:
Cam Bedrosian picked up his first major league save last night for the Angels. He now joins his father former big leaguer, Steve Bedrosian who collected 184 saves in his fourteen-year career. Now the Bedrosian household has 185 career saves.
ANGELS ON DECK:
Anaheim (48-58), will take on the A’s in game two of their three-game series. Jered Weaver (8-8, 5.14 ERA), will take the mound for the Halos. Kendall Graveman (7-7, 4.15 ERA), will get the ball for Oakland. With the win, the Angels are out of the basement of the American League West and hold a one-game lead over the A’s for
the bottom spot in the division.
