D’Backs Drop Dodgers 4-2

@Dbacks

The Dodgers had their hot streak momentarily halted vs Arizona on Saturday, dropping a 4-2 decision to the Diamondbacks and losing ground on San Francisco for the first time since July 7th.

The D-Backs stuck for a run in the top of the first on a solo shot by Jean Segura then plated two more in the top of the second on RBI double by Chris Owings and Jean Segura again. Scott Kazmir settled down nicely and cruised through a few scoreless frames somewhat easily, but left an inherited runner for Pedroia Baez in the seventh and the run would eventually come in to score.

Kazmir lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out seven. He was eventually charged with his fourth loss of the season (9-4).

The Dodgers got one back in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Scott Van Slyke and Joc Pederson was able to make it a two-run game in the bottom of the ninth on a solo shot, but Arizona ultimately this one by a final score of 4-2.

The Dodgers’ loss coupled with a Giants win moved LA to two games back in the NL West.
