Recap: Dodgers 1, Rays 3 – A.J. Ellis Steal Highlights Game of Lowlights
- Updated: July 28, 2016
Yesterday two players that the Dodgers have been linked to in trade talks, Evan Longoria and Matt Moore, nailed their audition by showing the Dodgers why they’re needed. Matt Moore gave up 0 earned runs in 6 and 2/3 inning, the only run coming on an error when A.J. Ellis stole second base, the first of his career and the ball went flying into centerfield allowing Joc Pederson to score from 3rd.
First career stolen base?
Yeah, @AJEllis17 did that. 🏃

That was it for the Los Angeles’ offense yesterday, that play put the Dodgers ahead 1-0 but a couple of innings later Evan Longoria came up with a man on and hit one out putting the Rays ahead, and a Kevin Maile double put the Rays ahead for good 3-1.
The bullpen was lights out again throwing 5 innings of scoreless with 3 of them coming from Ross Stripling who has looked really good coming out the bullpen since being called up last week.
Um…yeah, Los Angeles only got 5 hits, that was not good but hey it’s one game and today we get an off-day, no baseball until Friday when the Diamondbacks come into town.
Oh and AJ got to keep the base he stole, very cool.
