Lincecum Lit up In Angels loss

‏@CSNAuthentic

Tim Lincecum got roughed up for eight runs, all of them earned, over one and a third innings of work on Sunday, en route to a 13-3 Angels defeat in Houston.

The Astros plated four in the first on a three run home run by Jose Altuve and a solo shot by Luis Valbuena. Houston plated four more in the second inning on Jose Altuve’s second bomb in as many at bats and a two run single by George Springer. The Angels got on the board in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly by Kole Calhoun, but the Astros got it back in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI double by Carlos Gomez plating Colby Rasmus. After three complete, Houston led, 9-1.

Preston Tucker went deep on his fourth home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 10-1, then RBI singles by Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa made it a 12-1 game. Evan Gattis got in on the fun with a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 13-1 ballgame. Jett Bandy ended the drought for the Halos in the top of the seventh with his fourth home run of the season, a two run shot to make it 13-3, but the game would go final by the same score and Los Angeles lost their third consecutive game.

Lincecum’s current earned run average sits at 8.70. Not ideal. Los Angeles will begin a three game set with the reigning World Series Champions tonight in Kansas City. Hector Santiago and his 4.32 ERA will get the ball for the Halos in the series opener vs Ian Kennedy.
