Angels Beat Up Royals, 13-0

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim continue to look sharp, play hard and get crucial wins versus decent teams. Last night they simply laid a beatdown on the World Champs in a 13-0 victory.
Tyler Skaggs made his season debut and this was his first start in two years since 2014’s season-ending Tommy John surgery. Skaggs (W,1-0), looked very impressive as he pitched seven strong innings and struck out five on only eighty-eight pitches.
The Halo’s bats did all the talking in this game. Yunel Escobar collected five hits and lead the charge for the Halos.
Kole Calhoun drove in four runs, Mike Trout added three RBI’s,
while Carlos Perez turned in a four-hit night. All of the Angels starters has at least on hit, as the team pounded the Royals for twenty-two hits.
HALO’s DUGOUT:
Tyler Skaggs performance tonight is just what the team has been looking for. After C.J. Wilson and Andrew Heaney were lost for the season, Skaggs is just what this team needed.
For the first time this season, the Angels pounded the Royals in the ninth inning, sending thirteen men to the plate and scoring seven times.
ANGELS ON DECK:
The teams will finish their series, as the Angels will go for the sweep. Matt Shoemaker (5-10, 3.99 ERA), will take the hill for Anaheim. Dan Duffy (6-1, 3.14 ERA), will start for the Kansas City Royals. The Angels will be looking for their third sweep since the opening of the second half of the season. They are now 12.5 games behind in the American League West.
