Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.

Bjorkstrand just turned 24-years old and is a native of Denmark. He played last season in the KHL with Medvescak Zagreb.
With Medvescak Zagreb he played in 57 games totalling 22 points, 13 goals and 9 assists. Bjorkstrand will most likely spend the year in the ECHL and/or AHL with the Ontario Reign.
Bjorkstrand’s contract is a low risk high-reward if he can show promise in the states he could eventually become a part of the rotation.
