Batting Title Named After Tony Gwynn

@barstoolsports

According to Peter Schmuck of the Baltimore Sun, the National League batting title will be named after San Diego Padres Legend Tony Gwynn.

Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today confirmed the news.

Gwynn is one of the best hitters if not the best hitter in baseball history. Mr. Padre holds a career batting average of .338 and has over 3,000 hits in his career.

With the All-Star game festivities in San Diego it was the perfect time to honor one of the legends of the game. Gwynn was a 15-time All-Star and started 11 times.
