Brown got his start in basketball as a unpaid intern with the Denver Nuggets. He spent five years with the club doing video work and scouting.
Brown then went on the San Antonio Spurs as an assistant coach with Greg Popovic’s staff. Brown then became the head coach of the Cleveland Cavilers with LeBron James.
Brown led the Cavs to some of their best years in franchise history. However he was fired in May of 2010 and James eventually left for the Miami Heat.
Brown was able to land a job with Los Angeles Lakers where he took over for Phil Jackson. At the beginning of his second year with the club he was fired after a team with five former All-Stars struggled early.
Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, and Metta World Peace were learning to adapt the Princeton offense and front office of the Lakers got impatient.
Brown is known for his defensive mind and will be a great edition to the Warriors staff.
