Kevin Durant To Meet With Clippers

‏@BR_NBA

According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard the Los Angeles Clippers are one of the six teams as of now who will meet with free agent superstar Kevin Durant.

Reports surfaced last week that the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, and Golden State Warriors were all expected to meet with the former MVP. As this weekend unfolded Durant seems to be open to listening to the Clippers, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat.

Although the Thunder can offer Durant more money than any other team, it is unknown what Durant is looking for in free agency. He has won a MVP award and has been to the Finals once but has yet to win a NBA championship.

The Thunder have been activate in the last few days trading for the talented guard from the Orlando Magic Victor Oladipo. That move should only help the Thunder’s chances in retaining Durant pairing Oladipo, Durant, and Russell Westbrook together.

On the other side of things the Clippers do have a strong front line with a weakness at the small forward position. Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan make up and solid big four and adding Durant could supplant the Clippers as one of the favorites to come out of the West.

Durant would certainly grow his brand and market share in Los Angeles if that’s something he’s looking to do but the Clippers have dealt with injuries over the years and Chris Paul isn’t necessarily getting any younger.

Everyone is waiting on pins and needles for Durant to make a decision and that decision will certainly be the first block to fall in free agency.
