Dodgers Claim Layne Somsen Off Waivers

According to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register the Los Angeles Dodgers have claimed Layne Somsen off of waivers.

In addition the New York Yankees reported the news.

Somsen is a former 22nd round pick of the Cincinnati Reds in the 2013 MLB draft. Somesen made his major league debut this season with the Yankees and struggled.
As a matter of fact in 2.1 innings of work he allowed 5 runs and has a 19.29 ERA at the major league level. The right hander has shown promise is the Triple-A level.
In light of his Major league struggles he has a 1.44 ERA in 14 games in the minors this season. With the move the Dodgers add pitching depth.
