Brown is a former first round pick of the Boston Celtics in the 1990 NBA Draft. He played in the league for twelve years spending time with the Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic as well.
After his playing career ended Brown got into coaching. Brown was the head coach of the Orlando Miracle of the WNBA and San Antonio Silver Stars.
Brown then went on the D-league and became a coach for the Springfield Armor. This led to Brown joining the Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings before joining the Denver Nuggets last season.
Brown has been involved with player development for a number of years and along with John Welch. Brown could relate well with some of the players on the Clippers since he is a former player.
