Ducks Reach Extension With Sami Vatanen

According to Greg Bachman of the Associated Press the Anaheim Ducks have reached an extension with defensemen Sami Vatanen worth 19.5 million dollars over four years.

Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register also reported the news.

Stephens reported some details on the deal.
Vatanen’s deal is four years, $19.5 million. $5M in 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19. $4.5M in 2019-20.

Vatanen is one of the best young defenders in the game and recorded career highs in points and assists last season. Vatanen who just turned 25 a few weeks ago was a fourth round pick of the Ducks back in 2009.
Vatanen also played in a career high 71 games last season for the Ducks and will be a major piece of the team going forward.
